About the competition
The Ice Hockey World Championship is two weeks of hockey almost every day, and everyone watching knows exactly how they would coach it better. That is what a prediction league is for. You call the score of every game, and after the final siren the table shows who actually understands hockey and who was just cheering.
Sixteen teams in two groups play more than sixty games. The group stage is the best part to predict: favourites against underdogs where a confident call goes wrong, and tight games that decide the quarter-finals. The playoffs then produce upsets people talk about for years.
Scoring is simple. An exact score earns the most points, the correct winner earns fewer, and if you put your pig on a game, the points double. You can predict up to five minutes before the opening face-off, and the app keeps track of the time for you.
The official RafiPick league is free and open to everyone. The table recalculates itself after every game, with no spreadsheet and no arguments about points. Join before the tournament starts and your place in the table is ready for the first face-off.
